Peak demand events – Winter

Hydro-Québec dataset on peak events in Québec, updated according to weather conditions and operational constraints, from December 1 to March 31. The dataset provides information on the periods during which customers participating in the offers to save during peak events are asked to help reduce congestion on the electrical grid.

List of offers and descriptions

Residential customers

CPC-D: Rate D with the Winter Credit Option.

It is the Winter Credit Option for residential and farming customers.

TPC-DPC: Flex for Rate D

It is the Rate Flex D for residential and farming customers.

Business customers

GDP-Affaires: Winter Credit Option for Rates DP, DM, G, G9, M, LG and H.

It is the Demand Response Option for business customers, except for Rate L.

CPC-G: Winter Credit Option for Rate G

It is the Winter Credit Option for small-power customers.

TPC-GPC: Flex for Rate G

It is the Rate Flex G for small-power customers.

ENGxx: Winter Credit Option for Rates L and LG

It is the Demand Response – Commitment Option for large-power customers.

Note: Customers enrolled in the Demand Response – Commitment Option who wish to use an API to automate the triggering of curtailment measures must contact their account representative to obtain the name and number of the offer to be used, in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions.

OEA: Additional electricity option.

It is the Additional Electricity Option for medium-power customers – Rates M and G9 – and the Additional Electricity Option for large-power customers – Rates L and LG.

Update frequency: depends on the option and program.

Geographic coverage: Province of Québec, excluding the cities of Alma, Amos, Baie-Comeau, Coaticook, Joliette, Magog, Saguenay, Sherbrooke and Westmount (municipal
systems), the territory served by the Coopérative régionale d’électricité de Saint-Jean-Baptiste-de-Rouville (cooperative system) and the regions supplied by off-grid systems.
