RNAseq analysis of rat islets treated with DMSO or 50 uM naringenin for 48 h

Naringenin is a phytoestrogen compound that potently improves the metabolic parameters in animal models of type 2 diabetes (T2D), although the detail mechanisms implicated are not clear. This study was to investigated the effects of naringenin on pancreatic beta cells. Transcriptomic analysis showed that the expression of genes related to improve beta cell function, such as Pdx-1 and GLP-1R, is up-regulated by naringenin treatment in rat islets.
