This is an updated and revised version of the NCEP/NCAR dataset. It adopts numerical models and observation systems similar to those used in the NCEP/NCAR initiative. Corrections have been made to several known errors, while modifications have been implemented for model physical processes and satellite boundary conditions, alongside upgrades to the diagnostic library (including snow/ice schemes and snowmelt period modules). Compared to the original NCEP/NCAR dataset, this version additionally integrates a simple assimilation of CMAP precipitation data, and has improved representations of ground temperature, water budget balance, ocean surface radiative fluxes, and other related variables.
