Plotting data and MATLAB scripts for Figures 1–8 of "Typhoon-induced NIWs and their interactions with diurnal internal tides around the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea during Typhoon Nesat (2022)"

This dataset provides the processed plotting data and MATLAB scripts for Figures 1–8 of the manuscript “Typhoon-induced NIWs and their interactions with diurnal internal tides around the Xisha Islands in the South China Sea during Typhoon Nesat (2022)”. The figures compare near-inertial wave propagation, vertical modal structure, and interactions with diurnal internal tides at two mooring sites during Typhoon Nesat in 2022.The repository contains one data file, figures_1_to_8_data.mat, and eight independently runnable scripts, Figure1_plot.m through Figure8_plot.m. The data cover bathymetry and typhoon tracks, velocity spectra, currents and kinetic energy, vertical modes, propagation pathways, wave parameters, bicoherence, and wavelet results.To reproduce a figure, place the data file and scripts in the same folder, open the corresponding script in MATLAB, and click Run. Each script displays an editable figure window. Setting save_images = true also exports 600 dpi PNG and TIFF images and a PDF. The scripts were tested with MATLAB R2025b and require no additional toolboxes.
