The electrocardiogram (ECG) was measured using a three-lead ECG acquisition equipment (PC-80B, Shanghai Lixin Instrument Co, Ltd.) in order to assess HRV. ECG data were recorded using three AgCl surface electrodes, on both sides of the 4th intercostal space of the sternum and one left electrode on the costal margin of the right midclavicular line. According to the suggestion of Task Force, the sampling rate was 1024Hz. After the ECG signal recorded, we used MATLAB R2016a to process it for extraction of tachogram, which contains the inter-beat-intervals (IBIS) which was required for HRV analyzing. Firstly, we employed the Pan-Tompkins algorithm to detect the R peaks of the ECG signal. Secondly, we visually inspected the detection and manually removed artifacts according to published guidelines. Finally, we extracted time- and frequency-domain indices of HRV from the processed IBIs. Based on the recommendations for HRV measurement, we analyzed the time domain and frequency domain indicators of HRV with HRV analysis software (version 1.0) in blocks of 5 min.
