This document contains additional information on the characterization of ternary PtPdCo/C catalysts that were synthesized in different proportions by the colloidal method by displacement of organometallic ligands using octylamine as a stabilizer, which were prepared to improve the properties of electrode materials during the oxidation reaction of Methanol in direct alcohol fuel cells. These data will provide complete specific information of the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) characterization. Specifically, it is shown the fitting of each element, determination of their chemical composition of forming the ternary alloy and the surface state. It also provides information on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) technique that complements the data previously provided, using Bode plots; finally, it provides mapping with semiquantitative analyses of the elements forming the alloy in the catalysts. The data provided in this document could be useful for researchers that developed electrode materials with low amounts of noble metals to be used in polymer electrolyte membranes fuel cells.
