资源简介:

This dataset provides a high-resolution atmospheric database developed to support marine renewable energy assessment across the Atlantic Area. The database contains four key atmospheric variables relevant to offshore and multi-energy applications: 10 m wind speed (ws10m), 100 m wind speed (ws100m), 2 m air temperature (t2m), and surface downwelling shortwave radiation (rsds). The dataset includes both historical climate conditions (1985–2014) and future climate projections (2030–2059) under the SSP245 scenario. Atmospheric fields were generated from dynamically downscaled CMIP6 simulations using the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. The WRF configuration, including model domains and parameterizations, follows the methodology described in the study Forecasting offshore wind energy in Atlantic Europe using CMIP6 dynamically downscaled data. To ensure consistency with previously developed marine energy products, the atmospheric variables were extracted and distributed exclusively over the grid points corresponding to an existing Atlantic Area wave database available through CEDA (https://catalogue.ceda.ac.uk/uuid/2f1d9204781e471cb76c2c4fdf3a0383/). This harmonized grid enables integrated assessment of wave, wind, and solar energy resources and facilitates multi-energy analyses. The dataset is provided in NetCDF format with a spatial resolution of 0.125° × 0.125° and a temporal resolution of 6 hours. This database was developed within the framework of the European project AWESDI, under Work Package 2 – Holistic Assessment for Sustainable WE Deployment, specifically contributing to Activity 2.1 – Ocean Energy Characterization and Mapping. The dataset contributes to the generation of high-resolution databases and resource maps supporting sustainable marine energy deployment in the Atlantic Area. The computational resources required for generating and processing these simulations were supported by the Centro de Supercomputación de Galicia (CESGA). Users of this dataset are encouraged to cite both this repository and the associated publications describing the atmospheric downscaling methodology and the reference wave database.
