Evaluation of the functional and centromere drive hypotheses on tandem repeat evolution in a stick insect

In this study, we investigate the dynamics of the TR repeatome in relation to varying levels of recombination, genetic drift, and selection within the stick insect group Timema; providing an experimental framework to assess the genome-wide functionality (or lack thereof) of tandem repeats.
