Addressing the documented lack of visible female role models in STEM, this study employed a single-group, pre-test/post-test quasi-experimental design with 55 female business students at a university in Taiwan. The intervention consisted of a short animated film depicting the life and work of Dame Mary Cartwright, a prominent 20th-century British mathematician whose work on chaos theory is foundational to modern economics and finance. Standardized psychometric instruments—the Fennema-Sherman Mathematics Attitudes Scales (FSMAS) and the Mathematics Self-Efficacy Scale (MSES)—were administered before and after the intervention. The results of paired-samples t-tests revealed statistically significant improvements across all measured dimensions.
