2018-2021 Tibetan Plateau Degraded Alpine Meadow Patch Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Dataset

Images were collected during the summer months of June to September each year from 2018 to 2021. In order to minimize the impact of shadows, the data collection timeframe was restricted to between 10:00 and 14:00, and only clear and cloudless weather conditions with a mild breeze were selected. The images were captured using a DJI PHANTOM4 UAV developed by Shenzhen DJI-Innovations, equipped with a high-energy density intelligent flight battery and a high-efficiency power system.Further, the de-graded patches in the alpine meadow images were polygon-labeled using a professional image labeling tool (Labelme) software in combination with the visual interpretation experience of experts in the field of agrostology. Some JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) files were automatically generated from the labeled images to save the pixel location information of the labeled areas. Finally, the json files were converted into Portable Network Graphics(PNG) format to generate the dataset in VOC 2007 format.
