1.Data Collection SitesThe comprehensive observation field of broad-leaved Korean pine forest (Geographic coordinates of the center point: 128.0956E, 42.4030N; AltitudE; 784 m), located in Erdaobaihe Town, Antu County, Jilin Province.2.Methods of collecting litterChangbai Mountain Forest Ecosystem Positioning Research Station derive monthly litter recovery amount through sampling, measurement and analysis at the end of each growing season. We randomly placed 10 litter traps (1 m x 1 m) within the permanent site of the broad-leaved and Korean pine forest to long-term observe litter recovery amount. The center of litter traps was at a height of 1 meter from the ground. The growing season is from May to October each year. Therefore, at the end of May, June, July, August, September, and October, the litter in litter traps was collected, then was separated by branches, leaves, flowers, fruits, bark, moss, lichens and debris. The samples were weighed after drying at 65°C to constant weight, then the results were recorded in the "litter recovery amount of the forest plant community" sheet. In addition, the litter traps were cleaned up at the end of April each year, the litter from early November of the previous year to the end of April of this year was collected, separated, weighed, and recorded. We derive litter standing crop through sampling, measurement and analysis in growth peak period of each year. In mid-August the litter in 1 m x 1 m projected area of 10 litter traps was collected, separated, weighed, and recorded in the " litter standing crop of the forest plant community" sheet.3.Data processingData processing included checking original record, inputting date and data statistical analyzing. The data statistical analyzing included calculating the total of litter recovery amount and litter standing crop.4. Dataset compositionThe dataset consists of one data file, including 800 items (litter recovery amount: 700 items, litter standing crop: 100 items). The dataset contains the information such as litter traps No. and the dry weight of dead branches, leaves, fruit (flower), tree barks, lichens and mosses, and debris.5. Data quality control and evaluationData quality control was according to PROTOCOLS FOR STANDARD BIOLOGICAL OBSERVATION AND MEASUREMENT IN TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS. Quality control methods included threshold checks, consistency checks, etc. Data quality assessment based on drawing the dynamic graph and comparing the data in the same period.
