资源简介:
Several species of parasites belonging to the Leishmania genus are known to cause Leishmaniasis in humans. Leishmania spp. are transmitted from host to host by the bite of a sand fly in which parasites are egested into the blood and are ingested by components of the innate immune response (neutrophils and macrophages). Despite the ability macrophages to kill foreign pathogens, Leishmania spp. survive and proliferate within the macrophage. This project will aim to investigate if there are key proteins that permit parasites to infect the macrophage of the human host, by using macrophage libraries in which individual genes have been deleted using CRISPR Cas9 editing. This data is part of a pre-publication release.
