Effect of MMP12 inhibitor on gene expression

Identifying changes in fat tissue gene expression in mice treated with or without mmp12 inhibitor. "Microbiota and adipocyte mitochondrial damage in type 2 diabetes are linked by Mmp12+ macrophages" Overall design: Adult male C57BL/6J SPF mice were first fed with the western diet for 4 weeks to induce glucose intolerance then divided into 2 groups accordingly. Afterward, mice were injected intraperitoneally with an MMP12 selective inhibitor MMP408 (3.5 mg/kg, dissolved in PBS containing 10% DMSO) or vehicle every day for 2-3 weeks while continuing western diet feeding. All mice were housed individually. The experiment was done twice. RNA-seq data provided here.
