Individual male flies were first kept in light∶dark (LD) cycles for 7 days, before being released into constant darkness (DD). Free-running period length (τ) and the significance of the rhythms (RS) were determined by autocorrelation as described by Levine et al [33]. Flies with an RS value ≥2 were considered rhythmic. Errors indicate SEMs.
