Radība un kosmoss kristīgajā domāšanā: attieksmei ir nozīme

This article focuses on the biblical understanding of the cosmos as God’s creation and on people in the rest of the world. Since this word is difficult to define in terms of ecology, it is used here in the sense of the interconnectedness of all living and non-living beings and things on Earth. Today, the media and politicians are focused on climate change issues, not so much on the value of all creation. The ominous aspect of this crisis is only important from a human perspective. Why? Whose interests are at stake? Who thinks they are the most important thing in the world and presumes to know the root causes of crises and their solutions? Ecological crises have deep roots in humanity’s damaged relationship with the Creator. The narratives and statements of the Bible describe the role of humans in God’s world. Different languages have different hermeneutic settings. The use of the English language requires additional effort in discussing linguistic issues to try to describe the attitude of a Christian person that God desires. In what way can people as gardeners, shepherds, managers, owners fit into the ecological scene?
