A study to determine the influence of intestinal Reg3b and Reg3g on the composition of the gut microbiome and alcoholic liver disease. In this study, we used Reg3b knock-out, Reg3g knock-out, and Reg3g transgenic mice fed ethanol or a non-alcoholic isocaloric diet to determine the influence of Reg3b/g on the composition of the intestinal microbiome as well as clinical symptoms of liver disease. The gut microbiome composition was assessed via sequencing the V1-V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene.
