One more taxon, Azemiopinae, is recognized within the Viperidae; recent data confirm Azemiopinae as the sister group of the Crotalinae (Wuster et al., 2008). Now days Azemiopinae includes Azemiops genus consisting of two species Feae's viper Azemiops feae and Azemiops kharini (https://www.itis.gov/servlet/SingleRpt/SingleRpt?search_topic=TSN&search_value=209550#null).Data about venom composition for these fairly rare snakes are limited and available for A. feae only. Earlier investigation of the enzymatic activity of the venom showed that it had no blood clotting, hemorrhagic or myolytic activities (Mebs et al., 1994).
