Health data on diarrheal diseases in the rural commune of Boussouma (Centre-East Region) in Burkina Faso

Daily health data were collected from three health centers (Dango, Dierma and Lengha) in the rural commune of Boussouma in Burkina Faso for the whole of 2020. The data included, diarrheal diseases such as diarrhea, parasitosis, typhoid fever, gastroenteritis and dysentery. The data collected included the consultation, the patient's age, their gender, where they were living, the disease symptoms and the diagnosis. The use of diarrhoeal disease data is part of the Mission for Transversal and Interdisciplinary Initiatives' (MITI) SANTELLITE (Monitoring microbiological health hazards by tele-epidemiology in tropical zones and socio-health vulnerabilities) project and the French National Center for Space Studies' (CNES) TELESSAO (Remote Sensing of Surface Water and Health in West Africa Valorisation) project. Given the high morbidity of diarrhoeal disease in rural areas, these data are used to demonstrate the link between issues of vulnerability and the risk of diarrhoeal disease in the study area.
