Summary:
In this study, we evaluated the effects of various stimulation parameters on motor symptoms in a hemi-parkinsonian rat model during GPi-DBS. We assessed motor performance across a range of DBS frequencies, amplitudes, and pulse-widths. We also introduced an intermittent stimulation paradigm to reduce the delivered charge compared with continuous stimulation meanwhile improving DBS efficacy.
