Assessment of purity in cultures of Escherichia coli or Bacillus subtilis

The aim of this project was to assess the possibility of contamination in cultures of Escherichia coli or Bacillus subtilis with or without 5 mM of diaphorin, a polyketide synthesized by Candidatus Profftella armatura (Gammaproteobacteria: Burkholderiales), an obligate intracellular symbiont of the Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri (Insecta: Hemiptera: Psylloidea).
