Western Indian Ocean Tuna Fishing Statistics

The data available covers the Western Indian Ocean Tuna Fishery. These consist of catch, effort and biological statistics for the main tuna species; skipjack, bigeye, yellowfin. The fishery is targeted by purse seine and longliners. The tuna fishery in the WIO consists main of far distant fishing fleets specially from the European Union. The availability of the data is on a case by case basis and should follow some form of research work related to the further development and management of the Seychelles tuna fisheries.
