The DORIS beacon installed at Syowa Station transmits radio waves of 2 GHz and 400 MHz, and performs precise orbit determination of the altimetric satellites and precise positioning of the beacon. Consequently, DORIS measurement contributes to monitoring the crustal movements and to constructing the international terrestrial reference frame (coordinate system).
