Whole genome assembly of Ceratocystis fimbriata (Cf), a fungal pathogen of many economically important crops. The current genome is of Cf that causes wilt in pomegranate and leads up to 100% loss. The availability of whole genome of this pathogen will facilitate identification of genes involved in its pathogenicity and/or virulence as well as help in identifying corresponding source of resistance in host plant. The whole genome sequence will also allow researchers to better understand the biology of this fungus and help devise management strategies for the same.
