In practice, women have equal access to employment opportunities and benefits in the workplace. A 100 score is earned where all the following conditions are met: 1) women receive equal pay and benefits to men for performing the same job, 2) have equal opportunities to be hired or promoted, and 3) are not fired, demoted or in any other way discriminated against as a result of pregnancy. A 50 score is earned where any of the following conditions apply: 1) in some cases women receive less pay and benefits than men for performing the same job, 2) in some cases there is a preference to hire or promote men, or 3) there are occasional cases of women being fired, demoted or in other ways discriminated against as a result of pregnancy. A 0 score is earned where at least one of the following conditions apply: 1) women rarely receive equal pay and benefits to men for performing the same job, 2) rarely have equal opportunities to be hired or promoted, or 3) are regularly fired, demoted or in any other way discriminated against as a result of pregnancy.
