Functional Traits Database for Amoebozoa

This R package allows easy automatic assignment of Amoebozoa traits to a taxonomy table. The database comprises traits in the categories habitat, locomotion, nutrition, morphology, morphotype, size, spore formation and disease association. The assignment is made at the genus level. All Amoebozoa genera included in the PR2 database v. 5.0.0 (Guillou et al., 2012) are covered. This trait database is a simplified representation of the actual enormous functional diversity of Amoebozoa, but allows for easy functional analysis of sequencing data. Accordingly, all traits are provided in discrete categories to allow statistical analyses, i.e. eachtrait for a given taxon is assigned only once in each category.
