Bovine digital dermatitis associated treponemes in the dairy herd environment

To address the issue of DD infection reservoirs, we surveyed for evidence of DD-associated treponemes in the content of the bovine feces, slurry and hoof lesions by deep sequencing of the V3 and V4 hyper-variable regions of the 16S rRNA gene coupled with operational taxonomic unit-level identification.
