The GNSS total electron content (TEC) data with a sampling rate of 30s are binned into 1°×1° grids every 30 minutes to investigate the ionospheric variation during the storm, and are archived in the files 'GNSSgridTEC20240511.mat' and 'GNSSgridTEC20240512.mat'.The Rate of TEC index (ROTI) data is binned into 1°×1° grids every 5 minutes to investigate the ionospheric irregularities during the storm, and are archived in the files 'GridRoti2024132withgglob.mat' and 'GridRoti2024133withgglob.mat'.Thermospheric wind velocities at altitudes near 250 km during nighttime are obtained using Fabry-Perot interferometer (FPI) instruments at Xinglong (117.6°E, 40.4°N; Yuan et al., 2010) and Mohe (122.3°E, 53.5°N; Li et al., 2021). These instruments calculate wind velocities from Doppler shifts in airglow emissions observed in four directions (north, east, south, and west) at an elevation angle of 45°.The FPI wind data from Xinglong spanning May 6–15, 2024, is archived in the file 'XingLongFPI.mat'. The FPI wind data from Mohe covering May 1–21, 2024, is stored in 'MoheFPI.mat'.Swarm data are archived in the files 'SwarmEFIA20240511.mat' and 'SwarmEFIB20240511.mat'.DMSP data are archived in the files 'f17_20240509.mat', 'f17_20240511.mat', 'f18_20240509.mat', and 'f18_20240511.mat'.The data type is '*.mat' available in MATLAB.
