Soluble CD14 promotes Th17 differentiation and expansion through GABA and expands ILC-3 like cells

Soluble CD14, sCD14, plays a key role in innate immunity and is elevated in various inflammatory conditions. However, its role on adaptive immunity remains unclear. In this study, we investigated sCD14s effects on T cell effector functions. We observed that sCD14 inhibits T cell cytokine secretion and proliferation. To delineate the underlying mechanism, we utilized bulk and single cell RNA sequencing, metabolomics, multiplex ELISA, and functional assays with human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs).
