Mantodea Species File (MSF) is a global taxonomic database for mantises (order Mantodea). It contains complete synonymy and classification information for over 2,400 valid mantis species. The database covers both fossil and extant mantis taxa, and is jointly curated by Daniel Otte, Lauren Spearman, Martin B.D. Stiewe and other contributors, adhering to the taxonomic framework proposed by Schwarz & Roy (2019). It aims to provide image information of global museum specimens (especially type specimens), as well as wild and captive-reared mantises.
