VPRS 262 Index to Probates and Administrations Issued

This series is a partial Index to VPRS 28 Probate and Administration Files, VPRS 7591 Wills and VPRS 27 Transcription of Wills. Summary information recorded in the index includes the name of the deceased, area of residence, occupation, date of death, nature of grant (Probate, Administration etc), date of grant, to whom committed and file number. The index was used as a retrospective index to VPRS 261 Register of Probates and Administrations Issued to assist access to records created between 1853 and 1888. This index was compiled in various versions.
