Upper and lower respiratory microbiome

The goal is to assess the impact of microorganism RNA extraction from respiratory samples on microbiome analysis using third-generation sequencing.RNA from bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and nasopharyngeal swabs was extracted following two different protocols - chemical and mechanical lysis against chemical lysis only - and was sequenced through metatranscriptomic approach using Oxford Nanopore Technology.
