Digital Marketing Capabilities and Business Management
收藏资源简介:
Digital marketing has become an important component of business management, yet the availability of platforms, customer data and automation does not by itself explain why firms achieve different outcomes. This paper develops an integrative, configurational framework that treats digital marketing as an organizational capability system rather than a collection of communication tools. It connects five capability domains—digital market sensing, data and analytics, content and engagement, channel orchestration, and organizational learning and adaptation—to intermediate value- creation mechanisms and multiple classes of organizational outcomes. The conceptual model proposes that capabilities influence performance through customer experience quality, market responsiveness, marketing agility, decision quality and trust. It distinguishes customer, market, innovation and financial outcomes, and identifies strategic alignment, digital maturity, managerial commitment, environmental turbulence and resource constraints as contextual conditions. Data governance, privacy, cybersecurity and responsible artificial-intelligence practices are treated as cross-cutting safeguards that condition both the legitimacy and effectiveness of digital marketing. The paper uses an integrative conceptual synthesis of established research in the resource-based view, dynamic capabilities, market-driven organization, digital transformation, marketing analytics and data privacy. It does not report original empirical observations or statistical estimates. Instead, it offers eight falsifiable propositions, construct definitions, measurement guidance and a research design agenda. Its contribution is to specify the intermediate mechanisms and boundary conditions that are often obscured by broad claims that digital capabilities improve performance. The framework is intended to support empirical testing and managerial diagnosis across firm sizes and institutional contexts, including emerging economies
