Identification of immune genes from the transcriptome dataset of Channa striatus and bioactivity of derived peptides. Channa striatus - Immune genes

In this study, selected immune molecules with putative immune functions were identified from the transcriptome dataset of freshwater fish, Channa striatus. A brief bioinformatics analysis was carried out to confirm the antimicrobial/immunological function of the identified genes and derived protein sequences. From the identified proteins, few bio-active peptides were derived and their biological functions such as antimicrobial, anticancer and anti-inflammatory functions were determined.
