In this study, we aim to answer the question of whether fatty bone marrow (FBM), which has paracrine inflammatory properties, might provide a selective advantage to hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs) carrying preleukemic mutations (pLM). We established several FBM models in immune-deficient mice allowing us to investigate the effects of FBM on both human and mouse preleukemic HSPCs (preL-HSPCs). To understand the mechanisms behind the interaction of FBM and preL-HSPC we performed single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis from HSPCs three days after injection to FBM mice.
