Mining carbon-fixing bacteria from marine metagenome using RAGE-Seq

Using single cell Raman spectra (SCRS) as biochemical profiles, Raman activated cell sorting (RACS) was able to link phenotypes and genotypes of cells. We have shown that single cell genomic sequences from RAGE (Raman-activated Gravity-driven Encapsulation) can be used to reconstruct nearly complete genomes of key functional by high-throughput sequencing data. Here, we applied RAGE-Seq to 13C-bicarbonate spiked seawater from euphotic zone of the Yellow Sea of China.
