资源简介:
Pollen analysis of two pieces of groundstane from 5AA1518, a multicomponent
prehistoric and possibly historic Ute archaeological site, was aimed
at identifying plants that might have been processed. A diverse artifact
inventory and location of the site overlooking an open park that provided an
excellent game habitat indicate that this site is probably the result of
hunter/gatherer subsistence activities. The presence of a Northern Side-notched
point indicates a Mj.dd.le Archaic occxpation approximately 4500 BP. Black-onwhite
Pueblo I Piedra sherds indicate an Anasazi occupation between 750 and 950
BP. Ute scarred trees and worked glass were also noted, identifying Ute
occupation of this site.
