CEREBROSPINAL FLUID MICROBIOME REVISITED NO EVIDENCE OF RESIDENT BACTERIA IN ARCHIVED SAMPLES

This dataset includes 16S rRNA sequencing data from archived cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) samples analyzed to investigate the microbial content in elderly individuals, including those with Alzheimer disease and related dementias (AD/ADRD). The CSF samples were processed with spike-in bacterial controls, and sequencing was performed on an Illumina MiSeq platform. The sequences provide insights into microbial diversity and confirm the sterility of the CSF environment, contributing to the understanding of potential microbial contamination in neurodegenerative disease research.
