The metagenomic sequencing conducted in this study aimed to comprehensively analyze the species composition, functional gene diversity, and metabolic pathway distribution characteristics of the microbial community in the colon of aged mice, and to reveal the regulatory mechanism of purple sweet potato anthocyanin intervention on the structure and function of the intestinal microbial community. This dataset provides a systematic metagenomic resource for in-depth exploration of the association between microbial communities and intestinal health. Through data sharing, it can provide basic support for subsequent studies such as screening of microbial functional strains, mining of key functional genes, and analysis of the interaction network of the microbial community, and has important academic value and practical significance for promoting microbiome research and application transformation in related fields.
