Aboral organs were removed and dissociated from adult Mnemiopsis collected off piers in Flagler County, FL. Single bundles of balancer cilia were collected from these dissociated aboral organs and sent frozen to BGI in Hong Kong for processing. Samples were subject to Smart-seq II amplification, llibrary construction, and sequenced using BGI's DNBseq platform with 100 nucleotide paired-end reads by BGI.
