The Lepidotheca of the Natural Science Museum of ?lava contains 80,000 specimens, 75,600 of them databased, belonging to 5,831 taxa. The collection began in 1974 and the main collectors have been Ibon de Olano, Juan Mar?a Marcos, Sigfrido Serrano, Jos? Mar?a Salazar, Javier Gast?n, Tom?s Molina, Txema Revilla, Jes?s M?ndez Garnica, Fernando de Juana, Jos? Sebasti?n Est?vez, Fidel Fern?ndez Rubio, Diego S?nchez Miyares and Mario Sarsa. This first dataset here published comprises 4,172 specimens of the family Zygaenidae, mostly in the Palearctic region of the world; most of them collected in Spain and in ?lava in particular.
