资源简介:
Phenotypic plasticity -- the ability for an organism to adjust its phenotype in response to the environment -- is hypothesized to play an important role in many ecological and evolutionary process. However, few studies have investigated the molecular underpinnings of plasticity -- especially using data from natural populations. We investigated the genetic basis of phenotypic plasticity in natural populations of Mexican spadefoot toads (Spea multiplicata). Tadpoles were collected from natural ponds that differentially favored either the typical 'omnivore' morph or the alternative 'carnivore' morph of these tadpoles. Samples consist of double digest RAD-seq reads from juvenile toad toe clips.
