In radiotherapy for head and neck cancer, 3D-printed boluses are used to ensure accurate dose delivery to irregular anatomical regions. However, exposure to high radiation doses may affect their surface and structure, potentially affecting the influence on treatment precision. In this study, we examined how therapeutic radiation affects the physical and chemical properties of two commonly used bolus materials. Our findings show that both materials can be used clini-cally, although one demonstrates greater stability after irradiation. These results confirm the importance of material selection in personalised radiotherapy. The study provides a basis for further research, including clinical evaluations of bolus skin contact and dose distribution.
