Epigenomic and transcriptomic studies of human hematopoiesis and acute myeloid leukemia. Homo sapiens

This study charts the epigenomic and transcriptomic landscapes of healthy human blood cells and acute myeloid leukemia cells using ATAC-seq and RNA-seq, respectively. We study 13 distinct cell populations from normal hematopoiesis including 7 hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell subtypes and 6 differentiated cell subtypes. We additionally study pre-leukemic HSCs, leukemia stem cells, and leukemic blast cells. The goal of the study is to better understand the transcriptional dynamics of the hematopoietic system and how this process is co-opted in the process of leukemogenesis.
