Neonectria ditissima. Genome sequencing and assembly

The Sordariomycetes fungus Neonectria ditissima is a major pathogen of apples, causing canker on trees and fruit spoilage. There is a lack of control methods available for canker that are effective and the deployment of host resistance in breeding programmes is slow, due to the long breeding cycle in apple. Generating the genome of N. ditissima provides resources for effector identification.
