Long-term simulations of bar dynamics in compound channels under climate change

This dataset consist of three different width simulation results created from the iRIC (International River Interface Cooperative) software. In each file, the numerical model results of long-term river bar evolution in a floodplain-bounded channel, are represented. The purpose of the simulations was to investigate the formation and decay of river bars at different flow rates and channel widths. Three different channel-width conditions were used: 40, 60, and 80 meters. The relationship between bar growth and the width-to-depth ratio was examined using these data. The findings imply that a width-to-depth ratio of 20 to 30 maximizes bar growth. The model also shows how magnitude and persistence of river bars may be impacted by anticipated changes in flow frequency under future climate scenarios.
