资源简介:
This project documents and compiles policy changes, amendments, and institutional responses adopted following the August 2023 wildfires in Maui County, Hawaii. The work is organized into two primary components: 1. Perishable Policy Information Collection: Conducted between May and August 2024 through online communications and structured surveys with county and state officials, this dataset captures immediate actions, emergency coordination measures, institutional challenges, and policy amendments affecting housing reconstruction efforts in Maui. 2. Construction Market Variables Compilation: Publicly available datasets and official documents were gathered from state and county government websites, along with federal sources such as the U.S. Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), and FEMA. These include construction regulations, land use policies, and construction market variables relevant to post-wildfire housing reconstruction. The resulting dataset provides a comprehensive record of post-disaster policies and housing reconstruction conditions in Maui, Hawaii. It can be used as a standalone resource or combined with other datasets for research on wildfire housing reconstruction, post-disaster governance, and resilience planning.
