High-resolution earthquake catalog and focal mechanism solutions for the western Hellenic subduction system (Greece)
收藏资源简介:
This file repository contains the earthquake catalog and focal mechanism solutions included in Bocchini et al. (submitted) and Essing et al. (in prep.). We build an earthquake catalog by combining machine learning techniques available through Seisbench for phase picking and association with a probabilistic, multi-scale, high-precision location method, namely NLLoc-SSST-coherence. We use continuous 24h long three component waveforms from a total of 33 seismic stations from permanent and temporary networks. We obtain absolute locations for 21,331 earthquakes from 01-12-2023 to 30-09-2024. We include in this repository three catalog files: 1) earthquake locations obtained by using the standard NLLoc algorithm (catalog_NLL.csv). 2) earthquake locations obtained by applying source-specific station travel-time corrections (catalog_NLL_SSST.csv). 3) earthquake locations obtained by applying source-specific station travel-time corrections and waveform coherence analysis (catalog_NLL_SSST_coh.csv) The catalog "catalog_NLL_SSST_coh.csv" contains the solutions used in Bocchini et al. (submitted) and Essing et al. (in prep.). We also include a list of seismic stations that we used to create the catalog (list_seismic_stations.csv). This repository also contains: Moment tensor solutions and first-motion polarity focal mechanisms presented in Bocchini et al. (submitted): File "MT_Bocchini_et_al.csv" contains 6 moment tensor solutions; File "FMP_focal_mechanisms_Bocchini_et_al.csv" contains 132 composite first-motion polarity focal mechanism solutions. File "focal_mechanisms_plots.zip" contains plots of composite first-motion polarity focal mechanisms, with the polarities overlain on each solution. Moment tensor solutions, moment magnitudes (Mw), and event distances from the surface of the subducting slab presented in Essing et al. (in prep.): File "MT_Essing_et_al.dat" contains 5 moment tensor solutions; File "Catalog_Mw_slab_dist_Essing_et_al.csv" contains Mw of earthquakes, where available, and the distances between the events and the top-of-slab.
