XMM observations of two bursting low mass X-ray binaries TS_14

GTWe propose XMM observations of the bursting low mass Xray binaries X1636536and X1705440 continuously covering at least one complete binary orbit. Thecombination of large collecting area and good spectral resolution will allowto do unprecedented spectroscopy as function of orbital phase. The spectralanalysis of absorption dips will determine precisely elemental abundances ofthe absorbing material. Accretion disk structures causing the Xray absorptiondips can be mapped in great detail providing further information on theaccretion flow via the accretion disk. The spectral evolution of bursts canbe followed in unprecedented detail.
