This layer describes the probability of tree plantation expansion between 2020-2030 across Brazil. The layer is the output of a random forest model predicting plantation expansion based on a suite of socio-economic, spatial, and biophysical predictors, as fully described in Cerullo et al. 2024 (Global Change Biology).
Probability of expansion denotes the probability that cells undergo a 5% expansion in tree plantation cover, with expansion is predicted for Class 3.3, Silvlicutura/Forest Plantation from the MapBiomas database (MapBiomas Version 7, 2022).
