In this project, we created SAiLoR, a de novo genome assembly software able to assemble highly rearranged genomes such as SCRaMbLEd synthetic genomes. SAiLoR could correctly assemble > 98 % of the simulated SCRaMbLEd chromosomes, outperforming established assemblers regarding both correct solutions and computational time.
